SNA Displays appoints lead for health and safety operations

Michael Russo joins company to oversee health and safety initiatives based out of the company’s New York City headquarters

SNA Displays has named Michael Russo to lead its health and safety operations, based out of the company’s New York City headquarters. Russo brings decades of experience in safety management, most recently serving as director of safety and quality at Safeway Construction Enterprises, and previously holding leadership roles at National Grid.

Russo said: “I was drawn to SNA Displays because of the spectacular work the company does. I’ve never seen anything like it before, and I look forward to managing the team’s comprehensive health and safety programme.”

He added that he aims to strengthen the company’s proactive approach to workplace safety. “My goal is to build on SNA Displays’ strong foundation by fostering a culture that prioritises safety, compliance, and continuous improvement,” Russo said.

Russo’s career includes supervising the 2001 decommissioning and demolition of the Maspeth Gas Holders, a high-profile controlled demolition of 400ft-tall natural gas towers in Brooklyn. He also developed a specialised training program for the NYPD Counterterrorism Division to enhance protection of critical facilities following the September 11 attacks.

Anne St. Mauro, vice president of operations at SNA Displays, said: “Michael’s extensive career and impressive accomplishments will be a huge asset to SNA Displays. Safety is a priority in all areas of our work, and his input will ensure workplace safety and compliance are unparalleled.”

A New York native, Russo grew up in Brooklyn.
