Smart Building Conference 2018 starts on Monday

The Smart Building Conference takes place on Monday 5 February and guarantees a packed agenda for the full day, twin-track event taking place at RAI Amsterdam.

Over 30 of the world’s leading experts on smart homes, offices, buildings and cities are participating in this prestigious annual summit that precedes the opening of Integrated Systems Europe 2018.

Tickets can still be purchased from the ISE and Smart Building websites and can also be bought ‘on site’ on the day of the conference.

Bob Snyder, Channel Media Europe editor-in-chief and conference chair, commented: “SBC is the place to be if you want to get a clear understanding of where smart technology fits into your life and business.

“We have two tracks focussing on the residential and commercial sectors plus plenary sessions that draw everyone and everything together. Smart Building is changing everything that we thought we knew. It’s exciting but also a challenge to stay informed on so many disparate aspects. That’s where SBC comes in!”

The SBC 2018 theme is ‘From Smart Building to Smart City,’ and this topic will be explored in detail by Professor Carlo Ratti, the leading architect and director at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He will participate in the final session of SBC (sponsored by Voltimum) before going on to present the 60-minute ISE Opening Address at the close of the conference. Ratti will speak on ‘Senseable Cities,’ and how the increasing deployment of sensors and hand-held electronics is allowing a new approach to the study of the built environment.

All delegates at SBC will get VIP, front-row seating at Ratti’s speech and Q&A.
