Europalco, which describes itself as the largest provider of event and show solutions in Southern Europe, has obtained ISO 45001 certification, the international standard for occupational health and safety management systems.
The certification process involved a diagnostic audit and gap analysis, a sector-specific risk assessment covering rigging, working at height, heavy lifting and electrical hazards, reinforced employee training, and investment in personal and collective protective equipment. Internal consultation channels were also established to allow technical teams to participate in hazard identification.
ISO 45001 joins ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 20121 for sustainable event management within Europalco’s integrated management framework. The company says the certification provides clients with greater assurance around compliance and operational continuity, and offers suppliers and partners more standardised safety protocols.
Pedro Magalhães, CEO of Europalco, said: “In our industry, health and safety are not separate from performance. They are essential to how we operate, how we support our teams, and how we deliver reliable solutions to our clients.”
Europalco says its next steps include further aligning the three standards across all stages of its operations and strengthening training for both staff and partners.
