Vieunite Pro brings digital signage to heritage UK pubs

Textura Pro Digital Canvas has been installed at two Butcombe Pubs venues, giving head office centralised control over promotional content while blending into heritage pub interiors

Vieunite Pro’s 27in Textura Pro Digital Canvas has been installed at two Butcombe Pubs venues, The Brown Cow in Fulham, London, and The Dundas Arms in the English county of Berkshire, in the UK, as part of a wider refurbishment programme intended to replace printed posters with a more flexible digital communications platform. Working with integration partner TVC Technology Solutions, Butcombe said it selected Textura Pro for its handcrafted wooden frame options, texture-accurate display surface and anti-glare finish, aiming for the displays to complement rather than compete with the venues’ heritage interiors.

Three 27in Textura Pro Digital Canvases were installed at The Brown Cow using Vieunite Pro’s integrated flush wall mounting system, with concealed cabling intended to give each display a gallery-style appearance rather than looking like an added screen. The approach was then adapted for a different venue layout at The Dundas Arms.

Using Vieunite Pro Advanced licences, Butcombe’s marketing team manages content through the cloud-based Vieunite Pro Portal, scheduling different playlists throughout the day to display breakfast, lunch, evening dining and drinks promotions when most relevant, and updating displays remotely across venues from head office.

Sonny Mander, head of business development at Vieunite Pro, said: “Hospitality venues shouldn’t have to choose between beautiful interiors and effective customer communications. Our challenge was to deliver a solution that felt like part of the pub’s design rather than another digital screen.”

Abbie McGuigan, marketing manager at Butcombe Group, added: “The system is simple, effective and easy to manage. It allows me to create different schedules and playlists to suit our venue’s changing needs throughout the day, making marketing much more targeted and effective to the day parts of the business. The screens themselves are well-balanced in brightness and never feel overly intrusive.”
