Powersoft’s Unica amplifier platform has been installed at the recently renovated Cine Teatro Liz Bastos in south-eastern Brazil to support the venue’s 7.1 surround sound system. Four Unica units – two 8K8 and two 12K4 models – now drive a full-range audio setup that delivers immersive sound for Dolby Cinema screenings while also supporting theatre, music and dance performances.
Located in Itabirito, in the state of Minas Gerais, the 571-seat venue was recently modernised under a project led by local AVL consultant Leonardo Pavanello Projetos.
Selected by integrators Multicom Engenharia and Universal Music Brazil, the Unica platform was chosen to meet the requirement for high-quality, energy-efficient audio in a compact footprint. Powersoft says its native AES67 connectivity enabled straightforward integration with the venue’s Dolby Cinema processor, while control is managed through the ArmoníaPlus software platform, which the company says simplifies channel patching and daily operation.
The system’s design also takes advantage of Powersoft’s power-sharing capabilities. Using the Power Sharing Tool, integrators were able to use a single amplifier to power both subwoofers and high-frequency loudspeakers, reducing rack space and total system cost without compromising performance.
The amplifiers are paired with LS Áudio loudspeakers and subs and support automatic switching between digital and analogue sources, a feature that helps staff move quickly between film and live content without manual reconfiguration.
