Visual Displays Ltd (VDL), a UK specialist in projection-based display and immersive systems, has launched a dedicated Immersive + 3D division, designed to help integrators and end users adopt immersive technologies more practically, with entry-level multi-projector packages starting from around £6,000.
The new division has been established in response to what VDL describes as strong organic growth in immersive and experiential projects.
The division’s packages include curved and cylindrical projection systems, two- to four-sided CAVEs and floor projection environments, with options for either transforming existing spaces or integrating immersive systems within current facilities. VDL says it uses AI-assisted parametric 3D CAD modelling to streamline design and deployment, allowing tailored immersive systems to be delivered within structured package pricing. All packages include options for content creation and media playback.
The division also supports stereoscopic 3D visualisation through VDL’s 3D Digital Canvas passive stereo projection system, which the company says can work on almost any surface including standard office walls, allowing multiple users to collaborate using shared stereoscopic viewing.
Greg Jeffreys, co-founder of VDL, said: “This represents a major opportunity for AV integrators at a time when margins in many traditional AV markets are under increasing pressure, particularly within the highly commoditised Microsoft Teams and meeting room sector.”
Jeffreys added: “When users experience real-time stereoscopic 3D visualisation, the level of engagement and spatial understanding can be significant. We also offer full content creation services and can convert selected existing 2D content into stereo 3D.”
VDL has also produced a free vendor-agnostic guide to help integrators and end users better understand the different types of immersive display systems available. The new division is already working with both new and existing partners, and further information is available at visualdisplaysltd.com.
