SAE University College in Melbourne has expanded its long-standing deployment of Audient hardware with the addition of a Nero desktop monitor controller in its Mastering Suite, complementing its existing fleet of ASP4816 and ASP8024 consoles.
The campus has used Audient technology since 2013 and currently operates two ASP4816 consoles alongside a flagship ASP8024, providing students with a consistent recording and mixing environment across its teaching facilities.
According to SAE, the Nero was introduced to streamline monitoring workflows and improve management of multiple audio sources within the mastering suite’s critical listening environment.
“We introduced the Audient Nero to enhance our mastering suite, specifically to streamline monitoring and manage multiple inputs more efficiently in a critical listening environment,” said Gareth Parton, senior lecturer at SAE University College, Australia.
The two ASP4816 consoles are used in introductory teaching studios, while the larger ASP8024 supports more advanced recording sessions requiring complex multi-input workflows.
According to SAE, the college’s continued use of Audient technology is driven by a combination of reliability, intuitive operation and consistency across teaching spaces. The Audient-equipped studios remain among the most popular facilities on campus, with students benefiting from a common workflow across recording, mixing and mastering applications.
“Our Audio and Music students learn in professional-level studios equipped with industry-standard technology,” said Parton. “We upgraded our core teaching spaces with Audient consoles to create a consistent, hands-on learning environment that supports students from foundational skills through to advanced production workflows.”
