K-array USA, in partnership with integrator Theme Park AV, has supplied the audio backbone for Truth Traveler, a faith-based virtual reality attraction in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and Branson, Missouri. The installation is designed to deliver immersive audio while remaining visually unobtrusive within the themed environment.
Theme Park AV specified 112 Vyper-KV52F II loudspeakers for even coverage, 18 Truffle-KTR25 subwoofers for low-end reinforcement, and 4 Domino-KF212 speakers for targeted point-source areas. Each VR motion bench, supplied by Simworx, includes compact Tornado-KT2 seatback speakers. Additional Rumble-KU315, KU212, and KU26 speakers were deployed for flexibility and performance.
The system uses an all-digital networked audio design with AES67 and Q-LAN for low-latency audio transport. An Alcorn McBride V16X show controller synchronises playback, effects, and triggers across the preshow, elevator, and VR sequences.
Coverage and SPL were modelled with EASE software, and final commissioning employed Smaart software to align and tune the system. The offboard K-array system works in parallel with the onboard Tornado speakers to create a unified soundfield.
Jesus Solis, CEO of Theme Park AV, said: “The client required discreet, low-profile loudspeakers that would disappear into scenic elements while delivering full-range frequency response, clear speech, and high SPL. K-array let us keep the focus on the story. The Vyper and Truffle platforms gave us power and clarity without drawing the eye, and the result is an audio experience that feels natural in the space and fully supports the ride media and motion.”
Solis added: “For projects like this, we prefer direct collaboration with manufacturers to tighten feedback loops and deliver competitive value while preserving the creative intent of the attraction.”
