The Bureau was in need of a communications solution that would enable real-time collaboration and data sharing during consultations and meetings with the 103 bureau divisions that are located in cities and districts across the 1,000 square-mile Province. It also required a highly secure, scalable solution capable of providing the highest levels of audio and visual communications without a large investment in hardware.
Technology integration firm Nanjing Newway Company carried out an evaluation of the Bureau’s AV requirements and demonstrated the features and functionality of the ClearOne COLLABORATE Pro 300, which brings ClearOne’s Spontania cloud video collaboration and traditional SIP/H.323 videoconferencing into a single appliance.
“The project involved more than 100 conferencing locations, making a traditional MCU approach very expensive and difficult to deploy,” stated Newway’s April Zhang. “The Spontania cloud solution was ideal for the project because it is easy to install and it operates in the cloud – eliminating the need for dedicated lines. What’s more, the Spontania cloud supports the 4G network installed inside the Jiangsu Bureau of Price. Our client is very happy with the end result and the better business outcomes the solution is generating.”
The Bureau chose to deploy ClearOne’s Spontania Classroom solution, securely hosted in ClearOne’s private cloud, supporting up to 100 licensed participants, with the option to increase licenses as necessary. Spontania Classroom enables participants to view up to four independent video streams and enables file sharing and real-time interactive annotation of documents.
To ensure high-quality audio, the Bureau also deployed ClearOne’s COLLABORATE speakerphones.
Following close liaison with the Bureau, Newway built a cloud-based video collaboration platform, which can accommodate all the remotely located Bureau divisions. Participants to crucial consultations and meetings concerning pricing across Jiangsu Province can quickly and easily join a single meeting via their PC or smartphone.
Security of communication during consultations and meetings was essential to ensure that the Bureau’s strict confidentiality regulations were met, thus the platform is hosted in the highly secure ClearOne private cloud which provides the highest level of redundancy.
The deployment of Spontania has allowed the Bureau to make significant savings around travel expenses, as participants are now able to attend consultations regardless of their location. The Bureau has also been able to reduce its capital expenditure by avoiding additional investment in videoconferencing hardware. Additionally, the cloud-based video collaboration platform operates within ClearOne’s secure private cloud, eliminating the need for the Bureau to invest in its own potentially costly private network.
