Daktronics LED video wall installed in US crime centre

The 7ft by 12ft display features variable content zoning, allowing simultaneous monitoring of multiple data sources and video feeds, at Pueblo Police Department’s Crime Center, in Colorado

Daktronics has equipped the Pueblo Police Department’s Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC) in Colorado with a high-resolution 1.2mm direct-view LED (dvLED) video wall to support real-time data visualisation and situational awareness.

The approximately 7ft by 12ft display features variable content zoning, allowing simultaneous monitoring of multiple data sources and video feeds.

Installed in collaboration with IT provider High Point Networks, the system integrates with advanced security technologies including “ShotSpotter” gunshot detection sensors, body-worn cameras, drone footage, and licence plate readers. This integrated approach is designed to improve crime monitoring and response times across the city.

The video wall is Trade Agreements Act (TAA) compliant and was assembled and tested at Daktronics’ Brookings, South Dakota facility. Its lightweight Speed Frame mounting system facilitates fast and precise installation.

High Point Networks supplied a secure network infrastructure designed to ensure reliable data flow throughout the centre. The RTCC also utilises Genetec’s security software platform, which unifies surveillance, access control, and other systems into a single interface.

Chris Noeller, Pueblo police chief, commented: “The integration of the Pueblo Police Department’s RTCC, featuring state-of-the-art Daktronics video technology, provides our department with a crucial advantage in addressing crime across the City of Pueblo. It allows our RTCC technicians to have a clear view of incidents as they unfold.”

Tom McDougall, president & CEO of High Point Networks, added: “We are proud to partner with the City of Pueblo on this impactful project that enhances public safety and strengthens community collaboration. Through our comprehensive technology solutions, we’ve helped enable the RTCC to operate seamlessly and effectively. It’s an honor to contribute to a project that plays such a vital role in keeping the community safe.”

Alex Barrett, channel partner account executive for the western region, Daktronics, said: “Working with High Point Networks on the Pueblo RTCC installation was a rewarding experience, especially with our Speed Frame system in place. Its lightweight, adjustable frame made mounting quick and precise, saving installation time and ensuring a perfect fit. I’m proud that Daktronics could provide a solution that not only enhances public safety but also streamlines the process for our integrator partners.”
