Leyard Europe has introduced the Planar Mantis Series, a new family of indoor LED video walls built specifically for rental and staging applications, with the product available to order across Europe from June.
The series is designed to enable tool-less, single-handed setup and teardown, with the company saying crews of all experience levels should be able to deploy and redeploy the displays quickly. Quarter-turn locks and quick-lock mechanisms are said to allow modules and electronics to be replaced in the field without tools, while cabinets can be attached or adjusted using the same approach.
The Mantis Series is offered in 1.5mm, 1.9mm and 2.6mm pixel pitches, with specifications including up to 1,500 nits of brightness, refresh rates up to 7,680Hz, a 4,000:1 contrast ratio and scan rates down to 1:8. Cabinet sizes are 500x500mm, with a 500x1000mm option available in the 2.6mm pixel pitch variant.
The chassis is constructed from magnesium alloy, which Leyard Europe says balances reduced weight with structural rigidity – designed to minimise flexing or warping and maintain image alignment during operation. The company positions the range as suited to concerts, live events and on-camera environments, including broadcast and virtual production.
Sidney Rittenberg, CEO at Planar, said: “This line of high-performance LED video walls was developed with a wide range of rental and staging venues and professionals in mind, incorporating customer feedback to introduce a solution that can be installed or dismantled without tools and with minimal training or LED experience.”
The Mantis Series is said to have been developed with direct customer input and draws on what Leyard Europe describes as decades of real-world rental and staging experience from its US-based Planar team. Additional models designed to support outdoor, right-angle and curved applications are planned for future release.
The range will make its public debut at InfoComm 2026 – Booth #C7258 – in Las Vegas, June 17-19, and will be available to order from June via Leyard Europe.
