Absen Venus LED tech delivers a wonder wall for Oasis reunion

Universal Pixels deployed 1,100sqm of Absen Venus 4.8mm LED displays, driven by Brompton media servers and Disguise software, to create huge upstage wall for video accompaniment to tour

Absen’s Venus 4.8mm LED technology has been deployed to deliver a huge upstage wall – 1,100sqm for the Heaton Park gig – with IMAG screens on either side of the stage, for the video accompaniment to Oasis’ reunion tour. Commissioned a year ago, Universal Pixels (UP) was responsible for the deployment.

The company brought in Brompton Technology to manage the video setup, deploying 16 4K Tessera SX40 LED video processors and 34 Tessera XD 10G data distribution units – designed to provide full redundancy, superior image quality, and colour accuracy – in addition to four Disguise GX 3 media servers which power generative Notch graphics and IMAG content. Disguise’s Designer software allows programmer Anthony Condon to precisely output and synchronise visuals across the screens.

Gareth Manicom, head of technical at Universal Pixels, said: “Collaborating with Absen, Brompton Technology and Disguise means a smooth set-up, unwavering reliability and out-of-this-world visuals, crucial elements in a tour that fans have been hoping for since 2009. It’s a pleasure to play a part in delivering an experience for each and every individual ticket holder that will live forever.”
