Niko’s ‘LED strips for beer’-style challenge

Niko invited ISE attendees to connect ten of its LED Strips in the fastest time possible in order to win a case of Belgian beer. One 15-bottle case of beer was given away each day to the person achieving the quickest turnaround.

Niko invited ISE attendees to connect ten of its LED Strips in the fastest time possible in order to win a case of Belgian beer. One 15-bottle case of beer was given away each day to the person achieving the quickest turnaround.

Times varied from less than 50 seconds all the way up to six minutes for a challenge that, according to Niko sales director Stephen Calder (pictured), provided a lively talking-point throughout the show.

Available in white and black, the LED Strips are guaranteed for a life of 50,000 hours and offer a power consumption of only 2.5W.

Other notable centres of attention on the company’s strikingly-designed stand included the Niko Touch Screen and the reddot award-winning Mysterious invisible lighting control wall switch (“interior designers love it”).

Calder notes that traffic was strong throughout the show, and reveals that Niko has already rebooked for 2011. “We have been busy from the moment we turn everything on in the morning. Next time you look at your watch it’s after 7pm and the time has gone like that,” he says, with a finger-click.
