D-Tools, provider of the D-Tools Cloud integration business platform, has launched Inventory Asset Management – a per-unit asset tracking capability designed to give AV integrators complete visibility over individual physical devices throughout the project lifecycle.
The feature moves D-Tools Cloud from count-based stock management to true per-unit tracking, assigning each physical item its own unique ID, serial number, warehouse location, project assignment, unit cost, firmware version, MAC and IP addresses and full asset history. Barcode scanning supports receiving, warehouse moves, project allocation and asset identification, with batch workflows designed to process multiple items in seconds.
Key workflow benefits include faster warranty and RMA resolution, accurate per-unit job costing, unit-specific service history, and a complete audit trail for compliance and chain-of-custody requirements. Service teams can identify the exact unit installed at a customer site, along with its full repair, firmware and maintenance record.
G Paul Hess, CEO of D-Tools, said: “Inventory Asset Management gives integrators the ability to track individual devices throughout their entire lifecycle inside the same D-Tools Cloud platform they already use every day. This improves accountability, simplifies service workflows, strengthens inventory control, and helps integrators make better operational decisions.”
The feature entered beta with the May 14 release and is now rolling out for general availability. QR label output is available now, with direct Brother and Zebra printer integrations planned for a future release.
