D-Tools appoints new CEO in planned succession

Business management software provider names industry veteran G Paul Hess to lead the company, as long-serving chief executive steps back from day-to-day responsibilities

D-Tools, whose business management software is widely used by AV systems integrators, has appointed G Paul Hess as CEO as part of a planned leadership succession, with Randy Stearns stepping back from the role after more than a decade at the helm.

Hess brings extensive experience in the electronic systems industry, having begun his career as an integrator before holding senior leadership roles across product, sales and marketing at organisations including Snap One and ADI.

Stearns led D-Tools through what the company describes as a period of substantial expansion, overseeing the transition from a traditional on-premises software provider to a SaaS-based platform and the launch of D-Tools Cloud. He will remain involved in an advisory and strategic capacity during the transition period.

D-Tools says its product roadmap and focus on the electronic systems integration community remain central priorities under the new leadership.

Randy Stearns, outgoing CEO of D-Tools, said: “With the company performing at a high level and our strategy, team, and capital all aligned, this feels like the right moment for me to step back from the day-to-day CEO role and pass the baton. G Paul is the right leader to guide D-Tools into this exciting next chapter.”

G Paul Hess, CEO of D-Tools, added: “D-Tools is financially strong, strategically focused, and backed by the resources and talent to accelerate innovation. My priority is to listen to our customers, empower our team, and thoughtfully scale the strategy already in place.”
