D-Tools launches interconnect diagrams for cloud platform

New feature provides integrators with visual method for designing and documenting signal flow and wire connections within D-Tools Cloud project management software

D-Tools, a business management software company that serves the global pro AV integration industry, has launched Interconnect Diagrams in D-Tools Cloud. The company says the new feature enables integrators to design and document signal flow and wire connections. The tool is designed to replace spreadsheets and CAD drawings with an interactive canvas that shows how devices connect in a project by system, phase or location.

Built into D-Tools Cloud, each connection is automatically linked to the project’s bill of materials, with the aim of ensuring team members work from the same data. The feature requires no additional setup or third-party software, with connections made by selecting devices within a quote using D-Tools Cloud’s embedded product library.

The system includes an interactive diagram canvas for connecting devices, flexible layouts that filter by system, phase or location, catalogue synchronisation to tie connections to product and BOM data, and a connection summary report for field personnel. Dynamic grouping and filters are designed to help users locate and organise devices within projects.

Randy Stearns, CEO, D-Tools, said: “Interconnect Diagrams represent the next step in accurately representing a system design and creates a communication platform around which team members gain a common understanding of a system’s design intent.”

The company says the feature provides clarity by replacing scattered notes and drawings, improves efficiency by eliminating redundant documentation, maintains alignment by keeping stakeholders working from real-time data, and helps ensure systems are installed as designed.

D-Tools provides software for over 8,000 integration companies in more than 90 countries.
