Installation and TVBEurope have released the opening panel from the AV & Broadcast Summit webinar, which brought together experts from across both industries on September 2nd to examine the growing crossover between pro AV, broadcast, IT and media production.
The one-day event explored the technologies, workflows and business models increasingly shared by AV and broadcast, from IP and cloud infrastructure to AI, virtual production, control rooms and networked audio.
The opening session, AV & Broadcast Convergence: Where Are We Now?, set the scene by examining what convergence means in practical terms and how far the traditional boundaries between the two industries have already shifted.
The discussion explored the role of IP in accelerating that change, whether AV is still primarily learning from broadcast or knowledge is now flowing in both directions, and where significant differences between the sectors remain.
Panellists also considered the longer-term direction of travel: whether AV and broadcast are ultimately moving towards a single technology ecosystem or will remain distinct but increasingly interconnected industries.
The session is the first in a series of videos from the AV & Broadcast Summit to be released by Installation, with subsequent discussions exploring the technologies and trends shaping both markets.
