Rock band The Scorpions are currently travelling the world with their “Get your Sting and Blackout Farewell Tour”. On a recent sold out show in Saarbruecken, Germany, they recorded the show using 3D technology for an upcoming movie and DVD. Preworks of Austria provided six High End Systems intellaspot automated luminaires to LD Rainer Becker to enhance the massive lighting rig. The touring rig also includes SHOWGUN 2.5 fixtures and a Wholehog control system, also from High End Systems.
For Preworks it was important to show the 850 watt intellaspot in comparison with the touring rig’s 1500 watt hard edge fixtures. For a strong visual impact, the LD positioned the six intellaspots on the side wings of the stage. He was apparently impressed by the light output, by the colour saturation without loss of brightness, and the creative gobo selection.
LD Rainer Becker is also a long time Wholehog user and for this Scorpions tour he is using a Road Hog Full Boar with DP8000 and a Road Hog Playback Wing. With control of over 130 moving fixtures, Becker is very satisfied with the status of the Wholehog OS and is looking forward in the upcoming version 3.2.0.
