ExCeL in-sources AV from Blitz

The ExCeL exhibition centre in London’s Docklands has extended its services agreement with AV supplier Blitz Communications and in-sourced its services provision. A new in-house team, ExCeL London Audio Visual Services, has been created, and two former Blitz employees have transferred to the team. In addition, ExCeL London has signed a five-year services agreement with Blitz to support the in-house team with equipment hire and services.

Munir Samji, chairman of Blitz Communications (left of picture, signing the contract with ExCeL CEO Kevin Murphy), said: “Our relationship with ExCeL started in December 2005 and has flourished since then. We are thrilled that our new contract allows us to continue as the AV partner at this wonderful venue.” James Mark, services and 2012 games director, ExCeL London, commented: “We are confident that our in-house team will be in a strong position to provide cost-effective audiovisual solutions to our customers, which is particularly important in the current economic climate.”
