Barco has appointed AED UK as a distributor for its projection portfolio in the UK and Ireland, expanding AED’s role beyond rental services into local sales and distribution.
Under the agreement, AED UK will provide increased stock availability, technical support and customer service for Barco’s projection range across the region. Customers will also have access to AED’s dry-hire projection fleet, which the company describes as one of the largest in Europe, for rental and staging projects. The agreement builds on an existing collaboration between the two companies in mainland Europe, following AED’s earlier expansion of its fleet with 32 Barco QDX projectors, the manufacturer’s 3-chip DLP platform.
Domien De Witte, vice president sales and marketing at Barco, said: “AED’s expertise, operational excellence and extensive fleet make them a natural partner to bring Barco projection technology closer to customers in the UK. Barco is headquartered in Kortrijk, Belgium, and reported sales of €964m in 2025. AED group is headquartered in Belgium, with divisions across the Netherlands, Germany, France, the UK and the United Arab Emirates.
