Computerlinks, a leading distributor of IT security, multimedia networking and Internet technology solutions to the UK and Ireland, welcomes Stephen Burley to its multimedia networking team as Technical Consultant.

Burley has spent 12 years involved with internet protocol (IP) and was among the original developers of the internet in Europe. Working originally as a support engineer at Pipex, he quickly progressed to hostmaster, developing networks across Europe.

Burley moved to Africonnect Ltd in 2003, where he became part of the pioneering team concerned with setting up satellite connections for remote African clinics to help their battle against Malaria, AIDS and TB, the of the biggest killers in Africa. Joining Computerlinks now takes Burley back to his IP roots.

John Turner, head of the multimedia networking division at Computerlinks, comments: “Stephen’s new role involves supporting our resellers and installers on networking technical enquiries in relation to HomeLogic and our other AV and control systems. He is also tasked with improving and maintaining the demonstration rooms at our head offices in Newmarket.”

The home automation demonstration suite is now in regular use, bringing visitors into a realistic environment to show prospective partners multimedia networking technologies in action and allow existing Computerlinks partners to demonstrate capabilities to their customers, such as developers.
