PlexusAV unveils AVN Series, a standards-based AV-over-IP ecosystem

Human-centric and standards-based AV-over-IP ecosystem that empowers interoperability, to debut at InfoComm 2023

PlexusAV, the professional AV division of Sencore providing a suite of human-focused AV-over-IP solutions, has announced the new AVN Series, which includes an IPMX Transceiver (P-AVN4), Plexus Visual Array Appliance (P-AVN-VSA) and Plexus Gateway (P-AVN-GTW). Based on the framework of SMPTE ST 2110, PlexusAV’s AVN Series eliminates the stress of selecting an AV-over-IP technology by leveraging a standards-based solution. The Series will debut at InfoComm 2023.

PlexusAV’s P-AVN4 is an IPMX transceiver that can be easily configured to operate as an encoder or decoder. Featuring 1 Gigabit transport, the P-AVN4 harnesses IPMX to provide open standards-based with JPEG-XS, JPEG-XS FIP, H.264 and HEVC codec options. The P-AVN4 boasts three 1 Gigabit network ports, HDMI inputs and outputs with HDCP support, USB-C video inputs, analog audio I/O and IR/RS232 support. With a simplified API, the P-AVN4 provides seamless integration with third-party systems to create a flexible solution for various professional AV applications.

The P-AVN-VSA is a central management and control solution that simplifies device monitoring. Featuring flexible two-level device grouping and filterable tagging functionality, the P-AVN-VSA provides a simplified user interface for easy switching of sources and destinations. Like the P-AVN4, the P-AVN-VSA boasts a simplified API to enable seamless integration with third-party systems. Finally, the P-AVN-GTW is a gateway device that can connect to remote locations with support for SRT and RIST. The P-AVN-GTW includes H.264/265 protocol conversion for streamlined delivery to content delivery networks, lecture capture systems and cloud-based services.

“We are excited to unveil the AVN Series, a lineup of interoperable, compatible, adaptable and stress-free AV-over-IP hardware and software solutions, at InfoComm 2023,” said Steven Cogels, global director of business development for PlexusAV. “We launched PlexusAV earlier this year with a mission of creating an ecosystem that improves AV-over-IP system performance, reliability, and builds compatible solutions.

“PlexusAV has gathered deep knowledge from decades of success in the broadcast industry through Sencore, our parent company, to create an interoperable solution that leverages an industry standard, IMPX. By integrating IMPX, integrators can integrate any manufacturer’s technology with PlexusAV.

The AVN Series provides unparalleled interoperability based on the proposed AIMS Alliance IPMX proposed standard, built on SMPTE ST 2110. Designed to enable the transport of compressed and uncompressed video, audio, and data over IP networks, PlexusAV’s integration of IPMX specifications and standards addresses the professional AV industry’s need for a single set of common, ubiquitous standards-based protocols that ensure interoperability for AV-over-IP. With PlexusAV, integrators can design and spec AV-over-IP systems that are backward- and forward-compatible, reliable, capable and future-proof because of the extensive interoperability.
