Digigram acquires OROS as part of critical audio focus

The companies hope their joint endeavours will increase their presence in the industrial, defence, security and transport markets

Digigram has acquired Grenoble-based OROS, a French specialist in noise and vibration testing systems. This acquisition marks the acceleration of Digigram’s build-up strategy focusing on critical audio. The amount of the transaction has not been disclosed.

Effective immediately, the acquisition expands the headcount to approximately 60 employees, with offices stretching from the headquarters in Montbonnot, France, to the companies’ subsidiaries in Singapore, the United States and China. Similar to Digigram’s acquisition of French company AuviTran in September 2023, Digigram and OROS will now join operations. OROS will retain its brands and identity.

As a result, OROS management will increase its human and financial resources to support its development. “Digigram’s contribution is a valuable leverage to support both the technical and commercial development of OROS, as engaged in 2023 with the release of O4,” said Nicolas Denisot, product manager, OROS.

The two companies consider their partnership complimentary. Grenoble-based Digigram has concentrated on the critical audio, broadcast and live markets, with solutions serving the acquisition, transport and interconnection of audio signals over IP (AoIP). Its Digigram and AuviTran hardware and software solutions have been used in the media, transport, aerospace, defence and public safety sectors. Meanwhile, OROS has provided solutions for the energy, maritime, aeronautics, automotive, production and automation markets.

While the two companies already operate in different segments of the communications market, with customers in the civil and military aerospace (Airbus, GE Aircraft Engines, CAE) and maritime (US Naval Academy) sectors, their joint endeavours will increase their presence in the industrial, defence, security and transport markets.

“Our fundamentals are very close, whether in terms of markets, strategic stance, or human values, which is crucial to achieve a swift and seamless convergence,” said Jérémie Weber, president, Digigram group. “On many topics, OROS and Digigram speak the same language, always highlighting our French rooted expertise, a certain taste for innovation, and solutions applauded by our most demanding customers for their quality and reliability in critical environments.”

He added: “Together, OROS and Digigram will combine signal transport know-how with signal analysis expertise. This extensive approach opens up a whole world of possibilities to meet new needs and address increasingly comprehensive use cases.”

Based in the French Alps, Digigram has two offices in France and Singapore. For nearly 40 years, OROS has designed and manufactured noise and vibration testing systems (instruments and software).
