High-profile European AV distributor BMB Electronics has announced the arrival of Mark van Zon (pictured) to serve as its export sales manager focused primarily on Southern Europe, Scandinavia, the Russian Federation, the Middle East, India and Africa.

Van Zon has extensive experience in the AV and custom industry and, until recently, was taking care of international sales at Pronto. Mark is Dutch and lives close to the office in the town of Veen, North Brabant, so will be there frequently when he is not travelling.

Among the many brands for which BMB has distribution responsibilities are URC, ReQuest, Planet Waves and Atlantic Technology, with new products from each showcased during ISE last month.

BMB MD Martin Harding told IE: “The main challenge for Mark will be to grow the overall BMB business in Southern Europe, Scandinavia, the Russian Federation, the Middle East, India and Africa. URC will have a central position in achieving this. We appointed Mark to increase the URC market share using his extensive experience he gained the last 5 years in his position at Philips Pronto. Especially with introducing the new ‘Total Control’ concept in the coming months, URC is ready and fully capable filling in the gap Pronto left in the marketplace. Other BMB brands that Mark will fully focus on are ReQuest, Amina, Axium, TruAudio, Planet Waves, Lowell, Parasound and Atlantic Technology.”
