Humly Booking Device wins Red Dot product design award

It marks the third award for Humly Booking Device this year, on the heels of German Design Award and GOOD DESIGN Award wins in January

Humly Booking Device was among the winners in the Red Dot Award: Product Design category, which aims to distinguish how innovative design qualities make a positive impact on business activities. The programme relies on expert juries in three core award areas: product design, communication design, and design concepts.

Launched in 2023, the Humly Booking Device is a slim device for mounting on, and underneath, a variety of surfaces where people work, gather, and collaborate. It provides staff and visitors with a touchscreen solution to view and reserve available bookable spaces on campus, including meeting rooms, huddle spaces and phone booths.

Humly says it is crucial that the device supports hot-desking functionality, addressing one of the most important space booking needs to emerge from the hybrid work lifestyle. Booking details on the screen are readable from a distance, while colours wrapping around the thin bezel communicate space availability.

This latest recognition marks the second Red Dot Award for Humly in the product design category, following an award for the company’s first workplace hardware solution, Humly Room Display, in 2021.

It also marks the third award for Humly Booking Device this year, on the heels of German Design Award and GOOD DESIGN Award wins in January. Collectively, the two devices – each developed in collaboration with design partner No Picnic – have a combined nine wins in three years.

“Our thoughtful collaborations with the design experts at No Picnic continue to bear dividends as Humly’s hardware solutions make a positive impact within business worldwide,” said Anders Karlsson, CEO, Humly.

“The workplace has changed and both businesses and workers have embraced the benefits and quality of life benefits that hybrid schedules bring. Our solutions are designed to noticeable in subtle ways, accessible without being intrusive, and most importantly easy to use.”
