NETGEAR expands AVoIP services with NDI

Broader programme adds NDI workflow design and optimisation to NETGEAR Enterprise’s existing network services, giving AVoIP customers access to both through the same channel

NETGEAR Enterprise has extended its Professional Services programme beyond network design, deployment and optimisation to cover AVoIP workflows, with NDI as the first ecosystem partner. The services are intended to help customers address issues that can arise when network infrastructure and production workflows interact.

NETGEAR switches have supported NDI for several years, with dedicated pre-configured profiles and certification through the NDI programme. However, the company’s Professional Services previously covered only the network layer. Under the new agreement, NDI workflow services can be scoped and sold through NETGEAR’s existing two-tier distribution and reseller channel as project-based services tailored to individual requirements. They are separate from NETGEAR Premium Support tiers.

The expansion addresses the challenges of AVoIP systems that grow from a small number of channels in a meeting room or studio to dozens or hundreds of endpoints across a campus. As systems become more complex, faults can arise from interactions between the network and the AVoIP workflow, making it difficult to identify the cause or determine responsibility.

Massimo Mazzeo, vice-president of global systems engineering, customer support and services at NETGEAR Enterprise, said: “We launched Professional Services at the network layer, and this partnership with NDI extends that same program to what runs on top of the network. For our customers, the scope now covers the NDI workflow as well, so the expertise for the network and the expertise for the production layer come from the same place.”

The agreement builds on NETGEAR and NDI’s existing collaboration, which includes NDI support in NETGEAR’s pro AV profiles, switch certification and training through NETGEAR Academy. NETGEAR also holds a seat on the NDI Technical Advisory Board.

Charles Dobson, director of business development at NDI, added: “NDI’s growth in Pro AV has brought in a different kind of customer, one who depends on their integrator to design the system rather than building it themselves. Making our expertise available through NETGEAR’s channel puts it where those projects are actually specified.”

NDI workflow services are available through NETGEAR’s authorised distribution and reseller channel, with further ecosystem partners expected to join the programme.
