World first: Digital Projection launches 12,000 lumens laser projector

Digital Projection has announced the launch of the world's first production high brightness laser projector, which offers 12,000 lumens.

High performance projection system manufacturer Digital Projection has launched the world’s first production high brightness 12,000 lumens laser projector – the HIGHLite Laser 12k.

The HIGHLite Laser can provide 20,000 hours of stable solid-state illumination with a WUXGA resolution. As the projector uses solid-state laser technology rather than a lamp there is reduced need for maintenance over the lifetime of the projector.

The HIGHLaser system incorporates Edge Blend as standard along with geometric correction functionality. The system incorporates fully active 3D with upto 144 Hz refresh rate to offer flicker-free viewing. Dual HDMI 1.4, DVI and 3G-SDI inputs provides the very latest high speed video delivery. In addition, the system incorporates HDBaseT connectivity to allow for the transmission of uncompressed High Definition Video over a CAT5e/6 LAN cable. Lenses for the projector range from 0.77:1 to 6.76:1.

The first public showing of the projector will be at ISE 2014 on the Digital Projection booth and is scheduled for shipping in March 2014.
