Sharp launches 70in BIG PAD update for business and education

Sharp has announced its BIG PAD PN-70SC3, a 70in touchscreen monitor for education and business applications.

Sharp has announced its BIG PAD PN-70SC3, a 70in touchscreen monitor for education and business applications. The chief focus is on campus environments and SMEs to increase engagement levels and collaboration in lessons, meetings and presentations.

Sharp debuted the first BIG PAD in 2012 and brought out an update at ISE in 2014. This BIG PAD update incorporates Sharp’s UV²A LCD technology, which delivers high contrast colours and backlight transmission for a greener environmental footprint. Together with full-HD resolution and anti-glare coatings, detailed text and images are displayed clearly and accurately even in brightly lit rooms or classrooms.

Michael Bailly, product planning and marketing director, visual solutions, Sharp Europe commented: “BIG PAD is our hero range with the power to transform meetings and lessons. Introducing the BIG PAD PN-70SC3 to campus environments, such as universities, and corporate offices, such as SMEs, means that we can share this transformative, collaborative technology with even more schools and businesses, who will benefit from enhanced student engagement or more productive corporate meetings.”

The monitor recognises up to six points of touch contact and allows two people to write on the screen simultaneously using Sharp smart pens. In addition, users can present and interact with people based in other locations using the optional Touch Display Link software. This enables users to share content on the BIG PAD screen with up to 50 mobile devices, PCs or other BIG PADs within an organisation’s local area network.
