Lifesize seeks to optimise huddle rooms

The optimisation of huddle room spaces is a key focus on the Lifesize stand.

Michael Helmbrecht, chief product and operations officer at Lifesize, said: “A recent study estimated that flexible working could generate workstation savings of £1.1 billion for the UK economy. This could be a pretty big draw for companies to consider when investing in new workspace environments.”

Helmbrecht continued: “Ensuring a good return on your investment in huddle rooms comes down to space optimisation. This includes the facilities team creating a huddle room to avoid wasted space in the open-plan environment and to management building a culture within an organisation to ensure all spaces are optimised for different requirements.”

Huddle room solutions showcased within the Lifesize stand include the Lifesize Icon 450. This HD camera is equipped with a smart-framing sensor that automatically pans, tilts and zooms to the optimal position. When new participants join the meeting, the sensor readjusts and centres the frame. The camera is compact enough to sit comfortably in small huddle room spaces, and uses an 82º wide-angle lens, capable of capturing all participants without forcing them to bunch together.

Set-up is simple, says Lifesize, and the system updates its own software automatically through the Lifesize cloud-based service.
