A spectacular digital signage system, designed by SQM Digital Signage and comprising more than 100 multimedia devices, has been installed at the Posnania shopping centre. The supplied solution is primarily spectacular LED screens, including Europe’s largest elliptical transparent screen, as well as interactive videowalls and tablets. System management is carried out with the use of Scala software.
Opened in October 2016 in the Polish city of Poznań, Posnania is one of the largest and most modern commercial buildings in east-central Europe. The SQM digital signage system is just one of dozens of facilities and services designed for customers who use new technologies.
The most unusual element of the solution is an elliptical LED screen, suspended in the atrium, with surface of almost 100sqm and a transparency of 90%. It is the largest such construction in Europe and the only one of an elliptical shape; owing to its clarity, displayed content can be seen from nearby student residences.
In the rotunda, a semi-circular LED screen creating an impressive arc, ended with two-side free-standing multimedia totems. Synchronisation of all display surfaces allows content to be displayed over two levels of the shopping centre, and offers a variety of experiences depending on where customers stand. In addition, in the totem there are placed two touchscreens allowing customers to take a selfie, which can be displayed on a large LED screen.
At the entrance to the car park, seven videowalls have been installed, equipped with a Kinect motion controller and complemented by a camera sending scenes from the shopping mall to the displays. This configuration allows augmented reality to be launched using the building’s space. SQM’s digital signage installations support several LCD screens and professional tablets that can be used to obtain additional information about offers available within the centre.
The system of screens is managed remotely through the Scala platform. Installed hardware includes NEC public display monitors, Dell computers, Elo Touch tablets and Kramer connectivity equipment.
“Posnania is a new place on the map of shops and lifestyles spots in Poznań,” said Agnieszka Juszkis, marketing director of Posnania.”The whole concept has been prepared and designed for people. We have implemented the whole spectrum of the latest technologies here. One of them is multimedia screens with many kinds of media. ThinkThank APSYS LAB in co-operation with SQM from Poznań were in charge of the implementation. From today’s perspective, we can say that it was a very good choice.”
“The digital signage installation in Posnania is one of the largest multimedia installations in this part of Europe” observed Grzegorz Góralczyk, CEO of SQM Digital Signage. “Some of the delivered solutions are so innovative that this part of world has not seen them before.”
