CORE Lighting on show at LDI 2014

CORE Lighting used the 2014 LDI expo in Las Vegas to exhibit the PinPoint and the ColourPoint Mk2 LED products

UK wireless LED lighting manufacturer CORE Lighting exhibited at the 2014 LDI expo in Las Vegas for the second consecutive year, reflecting increased business and a strong interest across its product range in the US and central America.

Two brand new products were presented in the US for the first time – the PinPoint and the ColourPoint Mk2.

The PinPoint – launched is a tiny, IP65-rated wireless pin-spot luminaire weighing just 700 grams while its single LED lightsource outputs a punchy 300 lumens.

The head is connected to the base of the PinPoint via a flexible stainless steel ‘gooseneck’ for maximum focusability, and the brushed aluminium housing gives a contemporary, streamlined finish which looks fabulous in any environment.

Further options include the base being capable of vertical or horizontal orientation, making it ideal for sitting on shelves. The magnetic base can be clamped to metal objects of all types – including lighting, sound and video mixing consoles and control equipment – where it can provide working light in awkward and challenging spaces.

PinPoint is designed to provide feature lighting for events of all types and specifically to tastefully highlight table centrepieces, floral arrangements and other scenarios that need tight, detailed spot-lighting.

The standard battery life (fully charged) gives 10-12 hours of illumination, and a flight case system of 10 units offers an integral charging facility.

The ColourPoint Mk2 is a lightweight, lithium-battery-powered LED event uplighter with full wireless DMX control.

It is IP65-rated for outdoor use, and offers a powerful 2000 lumen output that will illuminate up to three storeys of buildings, medium-sized trees and foliage and is excellent for powerful wall-washing in marquees, tents and rooms.

New features include a selection of in-built programmes including ‘colour scroll’, selectable ‘master/slave’ modes and PWM frequency control, giving flicker-free operation for cameras at events or video shoots, in TV studios or other broadcast locations.

A DMX output on the ColourPoint Mk2 enables the fixture to be used as a wireless DMX receiver to control other nearby wireless DMX lights.
