Core Lighting, the UK-based LED lighting manufacturer, has announced a new operation in North America. Martin Lawrence will head the new branch based in Virginia Beach, Virginia with exclusive distribution for Core Lighting in the US and Canada.
Core MD Phil Ion commented: “This shows we are serious about promoting our brand in the American market, which has seen a steady increase in business over the last two years.”
In that time, Core has developed relationships with several American event lighting companies who are investing in their ‘Made-in-the-UK’ products for the events market including fixtures like ColourPoint.
The new branch forms part of a medium-term expansion strategy for Core, which had previously focussed on Europe.
Ion added: “We’re generally experiencing a surge in demand for quality products, and the ‘Made-in-the-UK’ marque is a real advantage. It is a great quality assurance, and underlines the fact we are completely hands-on and fully in control of all areas of our design and production process. We feel a lot of positivity out there with our American customers right now and we’re certain that it’s the right time to push across the whole USA.
“We are also delighted to have Martin aboard. His experience, excellent communication skills plus complete understanding and engagement with the product range will be a great asset to Core.”
The move follows the LDI 2014 exhibition in Las Vegas, the second time that Core has attended the event, where they highlighted their new PinPoint and ColourPoint II products for the first time in the US.
