Martin Audio’s WPC line array system has been acquired by Dutch event production company Stairway Productions, which has been building its inventory around Martin Audio equipment since 2014.
The Delft-based company, founded by Menno Smit in 2007, has taken delivery of 24 WPC Wavefront Precision Compact line array cabinets, complemented by its existing stock of SX218 subwoofers. The system was supplied by Dutch distributor Ampco Flashlight Sales.
Stairway Productions’ relationship with Martin Audio began with a Blackline system before progressing to a W8LM system. The move to Wavefront Precision followed a demonstration at a Martin Audio Experience Day held at the Gebr. De Nobel venue in Leiden.
Smit said: “I was incredibly impressed by the WPC’s performance and control; I knew instantly that this was the right direction for our next phase of growth.”
One of the first deployments for the new system was UIT Week Utrecht, a student introduction week drawing around 4,000 visitors at its closing event. Stringent urban noise regulations required careful management of the system, with Stairway Productions employing cardioid subwoofer configurations and continuous monitoring via the MeTrao measuring system to stay within permit requirements.
Martijn de Jong, product manager audio, Ampco Flashlight Sales, added: “The system offers the scalability and flexibility required for larger festivals and complex indoor events, ensuring the same uncompromising reliability that clients have come to expect.”
