Avantis Education receives King’s Award for Enterprise

Welsh edtech company's ClassVR virtual and augmented reality platform, used in over 90 countries, has been recognised in the Innovation category of UK's most prestigious business accolades

Avantis Education, creator of the ClassVR virtual and augmented reality platform, has been named among 185 organisations to receive a King’s Award for Enterprise in 2026, recognised in the Innovation category.

The award acknowledges ClassVR, which combines purpose-built hardware, curriculum-aligned content and classroom management tools into a single VR/AR device designed exclusively for education. Since its launch in 2017, the platform is said to be used by more than 2m students across more than 90 countries.

Assessors highlighted ClassVR’s classroom management and safeguarding features as central to the recognition, alongside its centralised teacher portal for real-time session control, the Eduverse content library and its support for students with special educational needs through virtual safe spaces and sensory simulations.

Huw Williams, CEO, Avantis Education, said: “We are incredibly proud to receive a King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation. This recognition is a powerful endorsement of the work our team has done to push the boundaries of what’s possible in education. It reflects not only our commitment to innovation, but the meaningful impact our solutions are having for schools, teachers, and learners across the globe every day.”

The King’s Awards for Enterprise, previously known as the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, were renamed in 2023 following the accession of His Majesty The King. Now in their 60th year, the awards are regarded as the UK’s most prestigious business accolades.
