Airport upgrades digital signage system

Stuttgart Airport has upgraded iover 750 PADS viewers to PADS Professional 3.1 softwaret with Net Display Systems. .

Having first committed to the software in 2006, Stuttgart Airport has upgraded its PADS digital signage solution with Net Display Systems. With approximately 9 million passengers using Stuttgart Airport each year, it is one of the larger airports in Germany.

Over 750 PADS viewers at the airport have been upgraded to PADS Professional 3.1 software. According to Net Display Systems, the most important reason for upgrading is that PADS Professional software has proven to be extremely robust and has no problem achieving an availability of more than 99.9 %. Also, says the company, the modular and scalable design of the PADS Professional software makes the system a perfect solution for large airports like Stuttgart Airport. The rollout was completed by Net Display Systems and Siemens within three weeks of the order being placed.

350 displays, ranging from LCD to large LEDs, show FIDS related information such as arrival information, departure information, check-in counter information, baggage belt information and gate information. These screens, if not in operation for FIDS, are also used for advertising. The remaining 400 displays are exclusively for commercial use.
