Boom Collaboration launches dual-host conferencing bridge

Boom ARC, now available in the UK, automatically switches meeting rooms between a dedicated in-room PC and a BYOM laptop via a single USB-C connection, with peripherals following the active host

Video conferencing hardware manufacturer Boom Collaboration has announced UK availability of the Boom ARC, a smart bridge designed to unify dedicated room systems with bring-your-own-meeting workflows without recabling.

The device auto-switches between an in-room PC running Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, or Google Meet and a connected BYOM laptop, with cameras, speakerphones, and displays following the active host automatically. It features a 4×2 HDMI matrix with dual 4K output and supports five operating modes, and is platform-agnostic across Zoom, Teams, Webex, and Google Meet.

Fredrik Hörnkvist, co-founder: “Many organisations invested heavily in dedicated room systems such as Teams or Zoom Rooms. While effective, we are now seeing a clear shift toward users preferring the simplicity of connecting their own device. The ARC bridges that gap.”

For integrators and IT teams, the device supports RS-232 and TCP/IP control covering video routing, audio management, USB host switching, EDID configuration, and CEC control.

Holli Hulett, co-founder, added: “For enterprise deployments across boardrooms, classrooms, and training spaces, this means a standardised, remotely manageable configuration that requires no on-site intervention every time a room’s requirements change.”
