Martin Audio has appointed Nat Houle as product support specialist for the US and Canada, covering both the Martin Audio and TiMax spatial audio portfolios.
Houle, a 2025 United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) Rising Star winner for sound design, brings a background in immersive and object-based audio to the role. Her university thesis on spatialised theatrical experiences led to the creation of NMH Spatial, a free online resource combining discussion of spatial audio’s dramaturgical applications with research-backed technical insight.
In the role, Houle will work alongside the US sales team, distributors and dealers to provide technical support and market insight, design audio systems, carry out on-site commissioning for installations and tours, and lead training seminars. She will collaborate with the Martin Audio and TiMax product support groups in the UK, with a remit that may extend to the Latin America region.
Houle said: “I am keenly interested in how sound prediction tools relate to spatial audio and how the technology can be further improved and adopted in our industry. I hope to encourage the use of it through my work with Martin and TiMax.”
Lee Stein, VP North America at Martin Audio, added: “Her blend of academic excellence and practical expertise, combined with a genuine passion for the technology, will be instrumental in helping our customers maximise their deployment of cutting-edge Martin and TiMax systems.”
