DisplayNote appoints head of sales

Ian Sinnamon joins the Belfast-based developer of software for meeting rooms and classrooms from the enterprise software sector, with more than 20 years of commercial leadership experience

DisplayNote, which develops experience layer software for shared meeting and learning spaces, has appointed Ian Sinnamon as head of sales. He joins from the enterprise software sector, where he has led sales teams and go-to-market programmes globally, bringing more than 20 years of commercial leadership experience to the AV and collaboration technology industry.

Sinnamon will lead DisplayNote’s sales function across its direct and partner channels, supporting the growth of its software across enterprise and education markets. DisplayNote’s software sits between people and the hardware in meeting rooms and classrooms, and is designed to create a more consistent experience for users while giving IT teams greater control across their estates.

His focus will include strengthening relationships with customers and partners, developing the sales team and working closely with marketing, customer success and product as the company expands its commercial activity.

Ed Morgan, CEO of DisplayNote, said: “Ian is coming into our industry with a different set of experiences, and we see that as a real strength. AV is increasingly part of a wider conversation around software, user experience, IT management and standardisation, particularly as organisations think about technology across entire estates rather than individual rooms. Ian brings considerable experience of how enterprise organisations buy software, how strong commercial teams are built and how direct and partner-led sales can work together.”

Sinnamon added: “What interested me about DisplayNote, and the wider AV industry, is how closely many of the challenges resemble those I have seen in other organisations. Everyone in IT wants technology that can be deployed consistently, managed effectively and, ultimately, make things easier for the people using it. I’m coming into the industry with plenty to learn, but also with experience that I believe translates well.”
