buk strengthens its AV conference team

Cambridge-based conference technology provider buk Solutions has strengthened its team with the recruitment of two experienced conference technicians, Tom Whitehouse and Jack Daubney.

Steve Hunt, operations manager at buk, said: “The two join us at a very exciting time when we are expanding the boundaries of our business and aiming for other sectors of the market. Their help will be vital in taking buk to the next level.

“Our technicians are extremely important members of the buk team because they work so closely with our clients.

“It is they who will leave the lasting impression of the firm, so we ensure we choose our staff carefully. They have a very responsible job that includes preparation, installation, on-site client liaison operation and dismantling of the technology, too.”

Daubney said: “I’m looking to further developing my skills and expertise within the audio-visual world and to enhance and utilise my existing experience from working as a professional musician and audio-visual technician.

“Above all, I enjoy the variety and flexibility this work provides, alongside getting a fly-on-the-wall insight into other industries.”

While Whitehoiuse said: “For me, it’s something new every day. It’s interesting and I feel there is so much to learn about the whole audio-visual side. I’ve always wanted to become a project manager. It’s definitely a goal of mine.

“I know it takes a while to get there, but I’ll always put the time and effort into achieving that. I look forward to the future here.”
