New DisplayNet server demonstrated

Described as a new concept for AV distribution, DVIGear is showcasing DisplayNet. Leveraging 10GbE Ethernet technology to switch, extend and distribute uncompressed AV signals in real time with resolutions up to 4K, it is said to be scalable and versatile and to deliver zero frame latency, zero compression and zero artifacts.

DisplayNet supports a wide range of applications including point-to-point extension, matrix switching, videowall display and multiviewer.

DisplayNet systems consist of multiple transmitter and receiver endpoints, a 10GbE network switch and a DisplayNet Server, which provides the API interface layer required to control and manage the entire system.

On display at ISE 2017 is the new DNS-200 server, which includes redesigned DisplayNet Manager software, a browser-based application that controls and configures DisplayNet endpoint devices and overall systems. It provides control features, as well as tools to facilitate the use of third party controllers that enable DisplayNet to be easily integrated into a wide range of professional AV applications.

The most recent additions to the DisplayNet family are the DN-200 Series transmitters and receivers, which add support for HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2, DisplayPort 1.2, High Speed USB 2.0 (480 Mbps), and internal scaling. Scaling in the transmitter units enables multiviewer applications, and scaling in the receiver units is said to enable more robust videowall capabilities as well as full seamless switching regardless of input resolution.

Systems integrators can now choose between models supporting CatX twisted pair cables or signal distribution over fibre optic media using industry standard SFP+ optical modules.
