DoorBird IP-based video door solution

First-time ISE exhibitor DoorBird is highlighting its eponymous solution for home security and increased convenience. An IP-based video door station, the DoorBird’s camera transmits pictures in HDTV quality at 720p resolution. Its wide-angle optics give a field of view of 180° horizontally and 90° vertically, while 12 infrared LEDs are said to ensure perfect night vision. Automatic echo and noise cancellation are included to ensure optimum voice quality, and a 180° integrated motion sensor detects movement in front of the house, triggering an alarm message with an image on the user’s smartphone – even if the doorbell hasn’t been rung. The detection area is configurable to minimise nuisance interruptions.

Also provided is the option to create a visitor history of up to one week via the Cloud from DoorBird, which is stored on servers in Germany and can be viewed at any time. Data is, says the company, encrypted according to the latest banking standards.

DoorBird says that the unit can be mounted in minutes, and no special tools are required. Two wires at the door are required for the 24V power supply, and connection to the router is made by WiFi or network cable. A PoE connection means that no separate power supply is required when using a network cable. Existing installations such as an electric door opener, door chime or door opener button can, says the company, be easily connected.
