Compact comprehensive AoIP console on show

The mc²36 audio console is being showcased by Lawo. The all-in-one mixing desk has a feature set that covers broadcast, theatre, religious, live and install applications. Natively equipped with Ravenna/AES67 technology, the mc²36 integrates into IP infrastructures.

The compact console boasts a DSP micro-core with internal 512×512 port audio matrix and integrated I/O, which Lawo claimed suited it to permanent installations with limited space, as well as to rental companies looking to optimise transportation. All production data can be saved on a USB stick and transferred to another console, also particularly valuable in rental applications.

The 21.5in Full HD touchscreens work with touch-sensitive, illuminated colour rotary encoders to provide intuitive operations, such as activating an automatic dynamic window pop-up when the users touches the dynamics encoders, with auto-close function.

The console’s interfaces include 32 mic/line inputs, 32 line outputs, eight digital AES3 inputs, eight digital AES3 outputs, eight GPIO ports, one MADI (SFP) port, three Ravenna/AES67 channels, and a headphone jack. In addition to the onboard I/O, a MADI tie-line connection and three Ravenna/AES67 audio-over-IP ports provide connectivity for up to 384 external inputs and outputs.

A 5RU stagebox, the mc² Compact I/O, can expand the mc² 36’s connectivity. Connected via Cat5 or fibre, the stagebox provides an additional 32 mic/line inputs, 32 line outputs, eight digital AES3 inputs, eight digital AES3 outputs, eight GPIO and a MADI port.

mc² 36 allows connection of three mc² Compact I/O boxes and networking with mc² consoles and Lawo Nova audio routers.
