All-in-one display makes life easy

Looking cool (to the touch): Simon Jonas in front of Optoma’s new FHDQ135S display

The new 135-inch all-in-one FHDQ135S LED display “is as easy as using a TV at home,” according to Optoma Category Manager for Europe, Simon Jonas. It has five panels that are “very easy” to set up, thanks to auto calibration, built-in speakers and a scaler/switcher.

It is also very energy efficient. “It runs really cool to the touch, because of the flip chip technology, and when you put it in standby it’s just 0.5W,” continued Jonas, “and can do picture-in-picture, or side-by-side for up to four inputs, so there is no need for an extra device. It uses Quad SMDs for higher contrast, better-viewing angles and added robustness.”

The new Optoma 53 Series Interactive Displays offer built-in whiteboard functionality plus real-time collaboration, and support Google’s Enterprise Device Licensing Agreement certification, so all Google apps work on them. The modular panels can include a Windows PC, WiFi, and air quality monitoring. NFC compatibility means teachers don’t have to log in, so multiple people can easily use one display.

Also new is the Optoma Collaboration Hub (OC Hub), a small box that “turns any dumb display into a smart device,” according to Jonas. It works with legacy devices and is not Optoma specific.
