4K matrix switcher debuts

A line of HDMI to HDBaseT matrix switchers, capable of handling up to 4K/UHD video at 60Hz with HDCP 2.2 copy protection, has been unveiled by Atlona. Designed for professional installation in residential and commercial settings, the line comprises two models, the AT-UHD-PRO3-88M 8×8 matrix and the 6×6 AT-UHD-PRO3-66M.

The new models provide HDBaseT outputs for both 70m and 100m cable runs, two HDMI outputs which are independently selectable as a mirrored or matrix output, and a web-based GUI for matrix configuration.

Additional features include 48V PoE, analogue audio de-embedding on multiple sources, EDID communications support, and front panel controls. Both models offer bidirectional remote control via IP, IR, and RS232 protocols using third-party control systems.

The matrixes are equipped with specialised audio features such as de-embedding of high resolution audio streams using 192kHz/24-bit D/A converters and independent control for volume, mute, and five-band EQ for all de-embedded audio content. Connections to analogue audio outputs are made with captive-screw connectors.

Anticipating future software upgrades, Atlona has also equipped the new matrixes with dedicated firmware data ports for IP and USB connection.

Both matrixes are offered in a 2U rack-mountable enclosure with a built-in international power supply and carry a 10-year warranty. The company said they will ship in the second quarter of the year.
