4K HDR pushes HyperDeck to Extremes

Blackmagic Design’s new HyperDeck Extreme 4K HDR is a H.265 broadcast deck with a touchscreen user interface with built in scopes and HDR screen. It records up to 4K in H.265, for reduced storage costs and high image quality, and offers an optional internal cache, 3D LUTs and HDR support.

Customers can add HyperDeck Extreme Control to transform it into a traditional broadcast deck. This makes HyperDeck Extreme ideal for broadcast, live production or digital signage (it has 10G Ethernet).

The unit includes two hot-swappable CFast media slots, 12G-SDI interfaces, analogue connections for archiving, USB-C external disk recording, plus a front panel speaker and headphone jack. An optional PCIe flash disk cache eliminates the chance of dropped frames if media becomes full or is too slow. Both AC and DC power connections are included for studio or location use.

HyperDeck Extreme supports Apple ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422, ProRes 422 LT for recording and playback plus ProRes 4444 for playback to fill and key out, so files are compatible with DaVinci Resolve, Media Composer, Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro X.
