Live production technology provider Grass Valley and networking solutions company NETGEAR have announced a strategic partnership to serve the rapidly growing broadcast AV segment, marking the latest convergence between traditional broadcast and pro AV as enterprises demand broadcast-quality production capabilities.

The collaboration brings together NETGEAR AV’s secure IP networking with Grass Valley’s AMPP software-defined production platform and hardware to address enterprise organisations including corporations, universities, houses of worship, esports venues, and campuses that increasingly require broadcast-quality production capabilities.

The partnership is built on major industry standards including NDI, SMPTE ST 2110, Dante, and SRT, aiming to bridge the gap between consumer-grade tools and complex broadcast systems designed for major networks – reflecting the ongoing convergence of broadcast technology into the professional AV market.

Matthew Yates, director of strategic alliances at Grass Valley, said: “The enterprise media sector represents one of the fastest-growing opportunities in our industry, yet these organisations have been forced to choose between consumer-grade tools and broadcast systems designed for major networks, with the associated cost and complexity. By pairing cost-effective, user-friendly NETGEAR AV products with the industry’s most advanced software-defined production platform in AMPP, enterprise organisations can deliver video experiences that match modern broadcast productions, while retaining the simplicity and flexibility customers expect.”

Laurent Masia, senior director of product line management at NETGEAR, added: “NETGEAR has long focused on making high performance AVoIP networks easy to deploy and manage. Our partnership with Grass Valley aligns perfectly with the needs of enterprise customers who want reliable, secure, and scalable video operations without the friction traditionally associated with live media workflows.”

The collaboration targets workflows including corporate studios, town halls, and hybrid campus productions where enterprises need to produce, manage, and distribute professional content without the prohibitive costs and complexity historically associated with broadcast-quality systems.
