Upgrade transforms Cytech home automation display at BRE

The interactive display of Cytech’s Comfort Intelligent Home System in the Visitor Centre at the Building Research Establishment (BRE) has been transformed with a complete upgrade.

The interactive display of Cytech’s Comfort Intelligent Home System in the Visitor Centre at the Building Research Establishment (BRE) has been transformed with a complete upgrade. As well as providing an interesting focal point for visitors to try out the system, the display illustrates the versatility of the Comfort home automation system. At the installation at the BRE’s home near Watford, the demonstration unit integrates with the KNX system used throughout the site to control lighting and heating and is used as part of BRE’s training programme covering KNX intelligent building controls. The Comfort demonstration unit can be controlled by telephone, Comfort’s new KP06 keypad and also by iPad using the Comfort app. The upgrade of the Comfort demonstration unit was carried out by Household Automation, a leading Cytech installer. Photo shows Graham Webb, BRE’s intelligent building controls tutor, using an iPad to interact with the Comfort display. www.cytech.bizwww.bre.co.uk www.household-automation.co.uk
