Largest colour ePaper display to be unveiled

Right on queue: The Philips Tableaux 5150 with Spectra 6 ePaper display

The new 32in (16:9) Philips Tableaux 5150 is claimed to be the world’s largest full colour ePaper display, which can deliver 24/7 content while unplugged and power-free.

The unit is the first signage display on the E Ink Spectra 6 platform and is intended as a replacement for traditionally paper-based communication – from posters, menus, in-store advertising, promotions and wayfinding, through to timetables and opening hours. The E Ink Spectra 6 technology delivers improved colour performance on the 2560×1440 display, using enhanced algorithms to provide a “true print quality replacement” for any paper sign.

As the latest member of PPDS’ growing Android SoC family, the Tableaux 5150 can be managed manually, or remotely using PPDS Wave, or with third party software.

It has 16GB internal memory and 2GB RAM, and content can be updated locally, via USB or Micro SD, or remotely, via LAN or via the onboard WiFi by plugging the Philips Tableaux 5150 into a nearby power source.
