SoundTube immerses visitors in world of Flemish painter Hans Memling

Integrator Ocular chose SoundTube's Dante-enabled speakers and switches to power the 'Closer to Memling Experience', at Museum St John’s Hospital, in Bruges, Belgium

SoundTube’s IP-enabled speakers and switches are powering the immersive show “Closer to Memling Experience”, at Museum St John’s Hospital, in Bruges, Belgium. The digital and interactive installation immerses visitors in the world of Hans Memling, a famous 15th-century Flemish painter. A Leyard high-resolution LED wall complements the audio experience.

Ocular, the integrator and creative force behind the project, collaborated with TAU Audio Solutions, SoundTube Entertainment’s distributor in the Netherlands, to integrate audio solutions to enhance the visitor experience.

Using SoundTube’s IP-enabled speakers and switches, Ocular created an atmospheric soundscape inspired by the polyphonic music which was composed during Memling’s era.

Ocular said it selected SoundTube’sthe Dante-enabled IPD-SM500i-II-BK 5.25 loudspeakers because they could be integrated discreetly to preserve the architectural integrity of the museum’s monumental attic space.

Meanwhile, Ocular also deployed the Dante-enabled SoundTube’s STNet-Switch-II for network audio distribution.

According to SoundTube, the Closer to Memling Experience has been hailed as a success by both Ocular and Musea Brugge. One client said: “This digital experience transforms the atmosphere of the museum, making a visit to Museum St John’s Hospital even more engaging and immersive. Visitors are triggered to come and take a look.”
