Sony partners with Stella McCartney for her runway show at Paris Fashion Week

BRAVIA BZ40L and BZ30J displays – 43 in total – were loaned to the designer for her March 4 Paris show, with sustainability front and centre

As part of their joint commitment to sustainability, Sony Professional supported fashion designer Stella McCartney in the staging of her show for Paris Fashion Week 2024, on March 4, with the loan of 43 BRAVIA professional displays from across its BZ40L and BZ30J line ups.

The challenge was to deliver clear, bright, high-quality images that matched the designer’s staging in a very light, demanding greenhouse catwalk environment, and the BRAVIA BZ40L series was seen as the “ideal solution”. It features Deep Black Non-Glare (DBNG) technology, to deliver “incredible” picture quality whilst mitigating reflections in even the most challenging lighting conditions – maintaining “sumptuous” black levels and “bright, vibrant” imagery from even the widest viewing angle.

McCartney also wanted a mix of screen sizes including some of the smaller screen sizes to maximise impact. The BZ30L series is available in a compact 32in screen size, with “superb” 4K image quality, “exceptional” colour, contrast and 25% anti-glare treatment. All loaned products are designed with sustainable responsibility in mind, an essential point for this partnership.

“We are always looking towards more conscious innovations and technologies in everything we do here at Stella,” read a statement. “Sony’s vision for sustainability is aligned with our own, making for a natural collaboration at our Winter 2024 runway show.”

The Sony Group is committed to sustainability, from the development process right through to the visual experience, and is implementing a long-term environmental plan called “Road to Zero”, which aims to build a sustainable society, with the goal of achieving a zero environmental footprint over the entire life cycle of its products and business activities by 2050.
